Prada Resort 2020 – Seditious Simplicity
A new perspective on a common language of clothing
Prada’s 2020 Resort show touched on subverted complexity. Bright pink meets flaming red and gloss columns disrupt concrete – a show that focuses on graceful movements and powerful attitudes of individuals travelling through the transformed Piano Factory in New York City.
A reinterpretation of classics is shown, or as Prada puts it: a new perspective on a common language of clothing. Timeless classics like button-down shirts, sweater vests and the infamous Prada coats meet 2000’s-style details, like bowling bag purses or chopstick hair accessories.
The collection is at contrast with the increased complexity of the world. Pulling back to the sincere, pure and true, it proposes an unexpected means of subversion, elegance as sedition.
